Well, our Bash was successful, and we’re planning another at the end of January. Are you wondering what a “Bash” is? (Hint: It’s not a car wreck.) It’s a party where my demonstrator friends and I come up with card projects or techniques to our customers and friends so they can try out some new products. We have door prizes, sell our retired products, look at presentations, and basically enjoy each other’s company.
Lately, I’ve been playing with the Frames & Flowers products in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue. This product has 4 sheets of 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper and sheets of cutouts that coordinate with the DSP. I needed some Thank You cards for customers who placed an order at the Bash. This product is SO easy to create with! Here is a few cards I made, plus what I have leftover to make more cards. The cards were so easy to put together.
I used Lost Lagoon cardstock and a bit of Basic White to complete the cards.
I used some of the smaller pieces to decorate the inside in a simple way.
This is the last card:
And here is the inside:
These cards were quick and easy to do! And look at what I have left over – lots of pieces to make more cards or maybe even a scrap page!
I’m off to make more cards!! Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed day!
After all the out-of-town AND out-of-country traveling, I’m finally settling down into my “normal” (if there is such a thing!) routine. In August, I went on a retreat, our yearly family vacation, a Congress in Boston, and then two lovely weeks in Spain with two of my energetic daughters. Whew! It was all wonderful!
Now I’m getting back to using my creativity with the Templates in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog on page 22. My crafty friend Marilyn has been making them along with me. She’s a bit ahead of me, but I’ll try to catch up:-)
Here’s my take on Template 5. I used some retired DSP.
Here is the Template 5 on page 22 so you can compare them:
The above card is Marilyn’s. Love that Designer Series Paper!
The Templates given in the Annual Catalog don’t list measurements so I’ll supply the measurements I used for my card.
Directions:
Card Base (Soft Sea Foam): 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches; score & fold in landscape position at 4-1/4 inches to create card base
Layer 1 (Peach Pie cardstock): Cut 3-1/4 x 5 inches. With layer in portrait position, make pencil tic-mark along bottom edge and top edge at 1-5/8 inches. From bottom tic-mark draw light pencil line straight up to 1 inch on ruler. Rotate paper 180 degrees and do same on opposite edge. Use scissor to cut from bottom left corner up to middle tic-mark. Cut from right corner up to same middle tic-mark to remove the wedge. Rotate the cardstock and do same on opposite side. Your cut piece should look similar to my cut piece on my card. If you wish, you can run the layer through the Cut & Emboss Machine using an embossing folder. Adhere to card front, tilting a bit to the right.
Layer 2 (Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper – retired): 3-1/2 x 3 inches. N.B. – If your paper has a definite orientation, note that the 3-1/2 length goes across the card front.
Greeting Layer (Basic White): 3-1/4 x 1 inches. I heat-embossed the birthday greeting on the white cardstock using gold embossing powder.
Melon Mambo cardstock: 3-3/8 x 1-1/8 inches to layer behind white greeting. Punch a little hole to string ribbon through and hand-cut the end with the hole, then put the knot in the ribbon. Use a few dimensions on the back to make it stand out on the card. (I used retired Melon Mambo ribbon.)
I took the basic rhinestone gems and colored them with my Dark Melon Mambo Blend to match the color in the Designer Paper. I adhered the rhinestones on the greeting label. Voila!
I did a little decoration on the inside layer, using the Round We Go Stamp set. The layer was Basic White and cut to 4 x 5-1/4 inches, decorated, and adhered to the inside of the card. Hope you like it!
I’ve been feeling like I need a challenge. So I took a look at the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog and I found what I needed on page 22! At the bottom of the page, there are 22 different card templates to help you to make a card! You can make them as simple as you like, or “doll them up” a little. So I’m challenging myself to make a card using each template to help me get started. Maybe you’d like to do join me? I will try to make two cards per week using two different templates ;-). I numbered all the templates so I could remember the ones I’ve already made.
Let’s start with #1:
Can you guess which suite collection this card uses? The Adventurous Sky on page 36 – 37. I really like this suite. There are several planes and matching dies of various sizes. I took a piece of Basic White cardstock and ran it through my Embossing Machine with the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder, took a sponge and a little Boho Blue ink, and gave it a little color. Then I took my Paper Snips and roughed up the edges of the paper to give it a vintage look.
Since this card is from my hubby’s birthday, and everyone will want to write a little greeting, I used two 4 x 5-1/4″ layers of Basic White, added some stamps and the plane. I stamped another tiny plane, cut it out with the die, and adhered it to the card front. I forgot to mention that the Designer Series Paper on the card front is from the same suite and it’s called Take to the Sky DSP. Added a little Linen Thread and called it a day!
If you decide to join me on this challenge, I’d love to see what you come up with! I hope you all have a beautiful day!
About a week ago, several crafty friends and I made a “Mystery Card” that I had put together. I gave them the “clues” to help them prepare for the Zoom event where we put our cards together. I have this event every month and it’s a blast! I’m going to show you the Mystery Cards from two of my attendees. The first card was made by Diane. The cards are a type of Z-fold card. Perhaps you can see why 🙂
Thanks for sharing your card design, Diane!
The next Mystery Card was done by Marilyn.
Thank you, too, Marilyn, for sharing your design!
Great job, ladies! I will share my design in a day or two, as I wanted to remake my card. Stay tuned!

Hello to all who are Irish for a day! St. Patrick’s Day is actually on March 17th, so for once, I’m early with my card and greetings. I hope you like the card to go with the holiday!
I’m going to ‘fess up’ that I’ve used retired products on this card, mainly because I don’t always purchase the new St. Patrick’s Day stamp set every year. I don’t get much use out of it. But since I’m 25% Irish, I do want to celebrate the great Saint’s Day! Did you know that Saint Patrick is credited for “Christianizing” all of Ireland? Yessiree!
I’ll give you the details of this card, along with noting the retired products I’ve used. Mea culpa!
Cutting Measurements and directions: (measurements are in inches)
Shaded Spruce cardstock: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, score in landscape position at 4-1/4 and folded
Layer 1 Gold Foil: 4-3/4 x 3-3/8
Designer Series Paper (retired Sunny Days from Sale-a-bration): 4-1/4 x 3
Inside Basic White layer for sentiments/notes: 5-1/4 x 4
Stitched Rectangles Framelits (retired)
Layering Ovals Framelits (retired)
Shaded Spruce ink pad
Distressed Gold and Shaded Spruce scraps to cut with Lucky Clover Punch and tiny flower punch (punches retired)
Greeting and Sentiments from Lucky Clover stamp set (retired)
I took the Shaded Spruce ink and inked the four-leaf clover. Then I stamped off twice, then stamped onto the Basic White cardstock. Next I inked the sentiment again and stamped it full strength. Next I inked the sentiment with Shaded Spruce and stamped it full-strength. I know I shouldn’t be using retired products, but I hope you like it! Besides, you may be like me – a frugal stamper!
A Happy, Healthy New Year to you all! I pray that this year will be a good one for all of us. And I hope your Christmas was very Merry! I want to share with you some photos from my last Mystery Card Monday in November. This is a Z-Fold Card with an optional gift card slot.
