Country Bouquet Valentine Card

Hi crafty friends,

Are you ready for Valentine’s Day?  I am!  Valentine’s Day is a seasonal marker for me; it means that spring is not far off!  The daylight is lengthening, the red line in the thermometer is rising, and soon the tulips and crocuses will push their way up through the soil where they’ve been hibernating all winter.

In the meantime, I still have a couple Valentine’s cards to share with you today and one for Monday.  The Country Floral Lane Collection is my go-to for Valentine’s cards this year.  I love that a punch comes with the collection, although we’re not using the punch for this card.  This collection can be used for many occasions: weddings, showers, friendship, birthday, or a random act of kindness.  I also used some other supplies as well that aren’t in the collection.  Here is the list if you’d like to make this card yourself:

Supplies:  White and Mint Macaron cardstock; Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper; Country Bouquet Stamp Set; Stamparatus (stamp positioner to help me line up the two images overlaid); Framed Florets dies; Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine; Artistic Mix Decorative Masks (for the inside of the card); blending brush; Sweet Sorbet and Mint Macaron inks; Pool Party Organdy Ribbon; retired heart embellishments colored with Petal Pink blender pen; dimensionals, Tombow Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots (to adhere ribbon to card), scissors

Measurements:

Card base (Mint Macaron):  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches on long side

Layer 1 (Country Floral Lane DSP):  5-1/4 x 4 inches (Watch orientation of images.)

Basic White Inside Layer:  5-1/4 x 3-3/4 inches

Mint Macaron scrap to cut large decorative oval

Basic White scrap to stamp large heart and fussy-cut it out

January Mystery Card Monday!

Hi crafty friends!

I want to share with you all a very fun card we made at my last Mystery Card Monday. It’s called an Explosion Card because when the recipient opens your card, the inside folds open out, like an explosion. See here:

Supplies:  N.B. This card will be in portrait position, so cut your DSP accordingly

Stamps, Designer Series Paper, Colored Cardstock to coordinate with DSP, Neutral-colored cardstock; Inks to match the Designer Series Paper, Versamark (if you want to do heat embossing); Others:  Bone folder; (if you will heat emboss), Heat tool, Embossing powder, Embossing buddy; Tombow Liquid Glue or strong glue

Cutting Measurements:

Colored cardstock that matches the DSP:  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches, score @ 4-1/4 inches

            Neutral cardstock:  4 x 5-1/4 inches

            Designer Series Paper:  3-3/4 x 5 inches

Designer Series Paper:  6 x 6 inches (random pattern works best)

            Neutral cardstock:  (Cut 2) 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches

            Colored cardstock:  (Cut 2)  2-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches

Neutral cardstock for greeting/and or image on card front, 4-1/2 x 3-1/4 inches

Assembly:

  1. Fold card base for a side fold card.
  2. Adhere 4 x 5-1/4 inch neutral cardstock to base.  Then adhere Designer Series Paper (3-3/4 x 5 inches).
  • Take 6 x 6 DSP and fold it as shown in this diagram below.  Burnish.
  • Close the folds to make a square and burnish folds again.
  • Open card base.  Put strong glue on one square-fold and place it “on point” behind card front.  Hold in place to adhere well.  Place more glue to back of square-fold.  Close back of card base and again hold in place for a minute to adhere.  Test the mechanism.
  • Open explosion fold.  Adhere 2-3/4-inch square colored cardstock to both DSP squares.
  • If you wish to decorate the neutral 2-1/2-inch squares, do so first.  Then adhere them to colored squares.
  • Decorate your 4-1/2 x 3-1/4-inch neutral cardstock piece.  A large greeting or a greeting with an image or just a good size image would work great for the card front.
  • Decorate your envelope if desired.

Tomorrow I’ll show you some beautiful samples from a few of my Mystery Card Monday crafters. Have a blessed day!

Valentine Heart Treat Box

Hi crafty friends!

I found this little Heart Treat Box on Splitcoast Stampers’ website. Isn’t it cute?! It’s from Wendy Lee and if you want to make one, there is a video telling how to make it. I passed these out to people who had recently shopped with me and lived close by.

Here’s what I used to make it: Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper, Butterfly Brilliance stamps and dies, Country Bouquet Stamp set, Wink of Stella for the butterfly’s body and antennae, Iridescent Pastel Gems, Basic White and Petal Pink cardstock, Sweet Sorbet ink, strong glue, and a Ferrero Roche candy.

I’ll have more Valentine projects coming up. Have a blessed day!

January 2023 Art Gallery Card

Hello crafty friends!

I’m here today to share a card that we made at my January Card Party. I love the Art Gallery stamp set! It’s still current, but I have a suspicion it may retire in May. I have two samples made with the gorgeous flower and stem from the stamp set. You may not be able to see it, but I used a little Wink of Stella on the bloom. It gives a sheen to parts of the flower that I love.

Products needed:

Art Gallery stamp set (p. 39 2020 Annual Catalog);  Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper (Jan./Feb. Sale-a-bration Brochure p. 14);  Granny Apple Green & Basic White cardstock;  Deckled Rectangles Dies (p. 170 Annual Catalog, #159173);  Tuxedo Black Momento Ink, Granny Apple Green, Seaside Spray (retired), & Balmy Blue inks;  Pool Party Sheer Ribbon (p. 145 of Annual Catalog);  Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine; adhesives; Mini Glue Dots

Cutting and Assembly Directions:

Granny Apple Green card base:  8-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches, score on long edge at 4-1/4 inches for a side fold card.

Fold card base and adhere DSP layer.

Cut out 2 Deckled Rectangles (3rd largest rectangle, already done for you).  Stamp stem/leaves with Granny Apple Green ink onto one rectangle.  Use Seaside Spray ink to stamp full flower.  Use Balmy Blue ink to stamp overlay on flower.  If desired, brush Clear Wink of Stella to paint over areas of flower.

Stamp sentiment with Tuxedo Black Momento ink.

Adhere the other Deckled Rectangle to inside of card.

Cut ribbon to 12 inches.  Form into a bow.  Trim ends and adhere to flower with a Mini Glue Dot.

Decorate envelope, if desired.

Now here is the other card I made using the same layout but different Designer Series Paper and inks. This is a quick and easy card. Hope you like them.

Have a blessed day! Debbie
