Mystery Cards

Hi crafty friends!

I hope you are well and happy, and making some cards to send for Christmas. For the next few weeks, I’ll be showing you some Christmas cards I’ve made this year. Perhaps you’ll find some inspiration for your own crafting. I do hope so 🙂

But for now, these cards are from recent Mystery Card Mondays. I’m happy to share cards crafted by some of my paper-lovin’ friends:

These cards are made by Diane. I love the coloring on the pumpkin and the fun fold cards.

This card is a specific technique called Split Circles. Here Diane has used a variety of circle shapes to add interest to this Thanksgiving Card.

This card is Marilyn’s version of an Accordion Card. The card below is the same card opened up.

Marilyn used ribbon for a belly band to keep the card closed.

This is another Accordion Card by Mariellen. The sentiment is beautiful.

Mariellen mounted her Accordion Card onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock which measures 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches to fit into a medium size envelope.

This last Accordion Card is from Rose. This makes a good Christmas fun fold card.

I’m sure you enjoyed seeing this variety of Fun Folds from my stampin’ friends.

See you next time. Have a blessed day! Debbie

A Gift Card Holder/Card?

Hi crafty friends!

Time to make some Christmas projects, like this one:

This gift card inspiration came from demonstrator Connie Stewart. I love this design; it’s easy to put together, and I think it will my go-to gift card holder this year. I used the Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper and coordinating dies for the large snowflake.

Here’s how to make it: Cut your card base to 11″ x 4-1/4″. Score on the long side at 2-3/4″. Rotate paper 180 degrees and score again at 2-3/4 “. Burnish along score lines.

Cut coordinating Designer Series Paper thus:

Cut two: 2-1/2″ x 4″ pieces of Designer Series Paper and glue to the two front flaps.

Cut one: 2″ x 4-1/4″. Use a punch or die to notch out a finger hole to make it easier for the recipient to pull out the gift card. Place glue around 3 sides of the DSP paper avoiding the side with the notch and keeping glue very near the edges. Adhere pocket to inside of holder (see sample).

Make a belly band: 2″ x 10-1/2″. Score on long side at 1-3/4″ and 6-1/8″. The belly band should be tight enough to remain around the card, but loose enough to be able to slide it off and on again. Decorate your belly band with a greeting and any embellishments you may have. I used the large snowflake from the Lights Aglow die cuts and gold foil paper. Then I used a simple “Joy” greeting and embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. Quick and easy!

Have a blessed day! Debbie

Cards Shared with Me

Hi crafty friends,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Our family definitely did! With nine adults and four young grandchildren, our house and yard were full of activity. The weather was great – for November in Ohio – so it was good for the grands to get outside and play some games with the neighborhood kids.

My friend Sharon was good enough to share with me some cards she recently made and I’ll share them with you.

Very pretty cards and a nice variety, too! A great way to use up retired paper. Thanks, Sharon!

Three of our grandkids (8, 6, and 4 years old) were here last week and wanted to make Christmas cards. One of my downlines Mary furnished the pieces to make Christmas tree cards. Thanks, Mary! They had fun.

I think they did a pretty good job, don’t you?

Have a blessed day,

Debbie
