Yesterday was my daughter Sarah’s birthday and we are celebrating it today. Here is the card I made for her.
This card uses the Hand-Penned Suite of products in the new Annual Catalog. This is a list of products I used for this card:
Cardstock: Garden Green, Mint Macaron, Pale Papaya, Basic White, Hand- Penned Designer Series Paper
Inks: Tuxedo Black Momento, Mint Macaron, Pale Papaya
Stamps: Art Gallery (greeting), Hand-Penned Petals
Accessories: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder, Matte Black Dots, Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon, business-size envelope (I decorated the flap with more DSP.)
Hope you like it! If you would like cutting directions, leave me a comment.
Today I have another Mystery Card for you. The other day, you saw Mariellen’s take on the Mystery card when she made two beautiful cards! This is the card I originally made for our latest Mystery Card Monday event. The inspiration came from Bev Adams, another S.U. demonstrator, who sent me a Halloween card. I loved the layout so much, I made a different card with different cardstock, Designer Series Paper, and stamps. I used the Expressions in Ink Suite (#155459) on p. 96 of the new Annual Catalog. Here is my card:
This is a fun fold card – it’s like a smaller card within a larger card. If you would like to make it, here are directions:
CUTTING MEASUREMENTS:
Card base colored cardstock: 5-1/2 x 7-1/2, score in landscape position at 4-1/4 inches
Another color cardstock: 4-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches, score in landscape position at 2-1/4 inches
Designer Series Paper: (cut 1) 2 x 4 inches (portrait orientation for cutting)
(cut 1) 3 x 5-1/4 (portrait orientation for cutting)
Neutral cardstock: (cut 1) 2 x 4 inches
(cut 1) 3/4 x 5-1/4 inches
Envelope
Size of finished card: 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches
ASSEMBLY:
1. With card base in landscape position on scoreboard, score at 4-1/4 inches.(Opt.) Before you fold, you may want to use a small stamp to randomly stamp the smaller side of the fold.
Fold the card base. The short flap is the front.
2. Stamping: On the long, skinny strip of neutral cardstock, stamp your greeting. You may decorate the strip if you want to. Set aside. On the 4 x 2 inch neutral color piece, in portrait position, you may decorate, add a sentiment, or just leave it blank for now. Set this aside also.
3. Take the 4-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch cardstock piece and score in landscape position at 2-1/4 inches. Fold in half.
4. On the flap for the front, adhere your smaller piece of DSP.
5. Insert the card front into the smaller “card”. Put some adhesive to the back of the smaller “card” and adhere to inside of card base with DSP flap over card front. Liquid glue works well for pieces that will get opened and closed a lot.
6. Open both card flaps and adhere the 4 x 2 inch neutral color paper to the left half of the smaller “card.”
7. Adhere larger DSP piece to inside of card.
8. Adhere greeting strip along right side of card.
Feel free to add a little something behind the smaller front flap of the card. You can also add embellishments or ribbon, or decorate the envelope – NO Naked envelopes 😊
At our last Mystery Card Monday, everyone made their cards with me and each one looked different, since they used their own stash of products. It’s so fun to see how different they all look. I asked if they wished to share their finished card with me and you. Mariellen has answered the call! She actually made two cards with the same layout, but which look very different. Here they are! Enjoy!
And here is her second card:
I love the way Mariellen has shown off the beauty of the Designer Series Paper! Wonderful cards, Mariellen!! Kudos!
I have two cards for you today. On the first card, I used up a few of the leftovers from my “So Cool” Paper Pumpkin Kit, mainly stickers and the Baker’s Twine from the kit. Directions are below:
CUTTING MEASUREMENTS:
Petal Pink Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches
Basic White Layer 1: 4-3/4 x 4-1/4 inches
Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper (retired): 4-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches
Basic White Focal Image layer: 4 x 2-3/4 inches
Basic White inside layer: 4 x 5-1/4 inches
Bumblebee Baker’s Twine: 18 inches length
I stamped the greeting in Bermuda Bay ink from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and popped up the focal image layer with dimensionals.
The second card was made with the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch. The layout is like the first card, except the focal image layer is 2-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches. I doubled the Baker’s Twine to make a more substantial bow. The ice cream scoops were made with Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay, and Terracotta Tile (retired) inks and were popped up with dimensionals.
Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day, celebrating our brave veterans, both living and deceased, and the ultimate sacrifice they gave for our freedoms.
I hope you’re all doing well! I have finally gotten around to making the So Cool Paper Pumpkin Kit and I wanted to do an easy alternative idea. I mounted the Paper Pumpkin pieces to 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch colored cardstock. Then I used stickers that came with the kit to decorate the envelopes. Here’s what I came up with:
Spring has sprung here in Ohio and I LOVE it! It’s a beautiful spring with lush, flowering trees, lots of new green scents, and lots of sunshiny, blue, airy skies. I hope you’re enjoying spring wherever you are, too.
With spring comes the new 2021-2022 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog and new In Colors that will be with us until 2023. Here is a card that was inspired by Katie Kurfess, another demonstrator. I changed up the colors so I could use all the new In Colors. If you want to make this card, the details are below.
Have a blessed day! Debbie
CUTTING MEASUREMENTS:
Card base (Evening Evergreen): 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches In landscape position, score at 4-1/4 inches. Stay in landscape, and move 5-1/2 edge to 3 inches line and make a cut from 2-1/2″ to 4-7/8″. Turn card to portrait position. Slide 4-1/4″ edge to line up at 3″. Cut from 5/8″ to end of first cut. [Be sure the corner is completely cut through.] Rotate inside of the card to the outside and burnish the short lines. A couple weeks ago my stampin’ buddies and I had a fun Mystery Card Monday. The cards are a mystery because I send them instructions for cutting and needed tools or other products they will need to produce a card using their crafting stash. Then they follow me on a Zoom gathering and make their cards as I make mine. It’s so fun to see what they come up with and I love it when they share their completed cards with me. Mariellen shared her Mystery Card with me, so I’m sharing it with you.
Mariellen’s Mystery Card
She used the Peaceful Poppies and coordinating Designer Series Paper. Beautiful! Thanks, Mariellen!

I hope wherever you are, you are enjoying milder weather as befits springtime. Here in Southwestern Ohio we are awaiting the coming of the 17-year cicadas: those noisy, creepy-looking large bugs that make a brief visit every 17 years to mate and then die off. They are VERY noisy, so I’ve stocked up on earplugs. They are due to start coming out of the ground around the beginning of May. The birds will love it!!
Today, I want to share with you three cards made from the Fine Art Floral Suite Collection in the January – June Mini Catalog. I think this suite is beautiful and I was very happy to see it has carried over into the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, although the Designer Series Paper will no longer be available. So get it while you can! The paper is so gorgeous. You can find all these products on pp. 32 – 34 in the Mini Catalog.
This first card was one that I shared last week, and I’m bringing it back again since it’s part of this collection. I made this card for my daughter Mary Rose’s birthday.
The inside layer uses a retired trio corner punch. I love the way it dresses up the plain corners, don’t you? And I stamped the small flower from the stamp set on the envelope, too. Here are details:
Cardstock: Mossy Meadow, Basic White, Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper
This next card was a little tricky due to the cut-out words and my finding out how to adhere them to the acetate layer, and how to adhere the acetate layer to the card front. If you want to know, ask me and I’ll be happy to help.
Here are details for this card:
Cardstock: Pool Party, Basic White, Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Floral Gallery Dies, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine by Stampin’ Up!, Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tear & Tape, Snail
And finally, the third card:
Here are the details on this last card:
Cardstock: Terracotta Tile, Basic White
Inks: Markers – Bumblebee, So Saffron, Granny Apple Green
Stamp Sets: Art Gallery photopolymer stamps
Accessories: Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate, Floral Gallery Dies, Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine by Stampin’ Up!, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Snail, Tear & Tape adhesive
That’s it for now. Be sure to stop by soon when I’ll play with the Pansy Patch Suite Collection products from the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog and have some samples for you to see! To follow my blog and receive email notifications when I’ve posted, subscribe on the right.
This week I plan to spotlight the Fine Art Floral Suite from the 2021 January – June Mini Catalog on pages 32-34. The Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper is luscious! It’s beautiful! It’s so elegant! It reminds me of impressionistic art with such vibrant colors. I used the DSP, stamp set, and dies to make this card recently. The Art Gallery set is a lovely two-step stamp set. The coordinating dies, Floral Gallery Dies, include a couple of nice surprise dies plus 12 x 12 Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate overlay sheets. The Suite also has the elegant Fine Art ribbon, Gilded Leafing Embellishment. and the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. If you come back, you’ll see some more samples of the suite later this week.
Here are the details:
Mossy Meadow Card Base: 11 x 4-1/4 inches, scored and folded at 5-1/2 inches
First layer (Basic White): 5-1/4 x 4 inches
Second layer (Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper): 5-3/8 x 3-7/8 inches
Inside layer (Basic White): 5-1/4 x 4 inches
Basic scraps to stamp and cut flower and stem
Stem was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink. The large flower was stamped with Poppy Parade and Terracotta Tile inks. Ink up the full flower with Terracotta Tile. Stamp off on scrap paper, then, without re-inking, stamp into the Basic White. Ink up the detail stamp with Poppy Parade and stamp it full strength on the first image.
I cut out the stem and flower with the dies and popped them up on the card front with dimensionals. I stamped the greeting in Momento Black ink on Bumblebee cardstock and cut it out with a die that came in the Floral Gallery Die set. I used Mini Dimensionals to pop it up on the card front.
The inside of the card has a sentiment and a small flower to decorate. I also used a retired Curvy Trio punch to add some interest to the corners. The envelope was also decorated with the small flower.
I hope you have a blessed day and can find time to make something beautiful with stamping!
Yesterday I shared with you a shaker card I had made with the Ice Cream Corner Suite of products. Today I have another card for you using the same products from that suite. For this card the Designer Series Paper does all the work. This time it’s all about popsicles!
I hope you like it! This suite is so fun to play with! Have a blessed day!
