Ice Cream Corner Suite Is So Yummy!

The Annual Catalog Inspiration

This suite of goodies is good enough to eat! You’ll find it in the Jan – June Mini Catalog on pp. 48 – 49. There is a great stamp set, a punch (Gotta love the punches!), Designer Series Paper, Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon, and Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles. If you purchase the bundle (stamp set + punch) you’ll save 10%!

I made this card using products from the suite. This is a shaker card. If you look closely, you’ll see the sprinkles at the bottom of the card front. They are inside a clear envelope which is glued to the card front. My grandson loved shaking it when I gave it to him on his birthday. What fun!

Have a blessed day!

Artistry Blooms Masculine Birthday Card

Hi crafty friends!

I hope you’re enjoying some spring-like weather where you live.  Here in southwest Ohio, it’s been a balmy 70 degrees and I’m lovin’ it!  Each season has its own beauty, but I love spring and fall best.  In spring, I love the trees, bushes, and flowers coming back to life.  The autumn is a favorite because of the vibrant, vivid colors of trees and the cooler, more comfortable temps. What is your favorite season?

Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you.  I make a lot of birthday cards, but not too many of them are for men.  Here is one where the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper is the star of the show.  This patterned paper is in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog and will be retiring by May 1st.  It is a very “artsy” kind of paper and has a stamp set to go with it.  You can see them both on pages 130-132 of the catalog.  However, I’m not using the stamp set today, but I am using a couple other stamp sets: Lovely You (for the small leaves on the greeting layer), Itty

Bitty Birthdays (for the Happy Birthday and the inside greeting), and the Forever Fern (for the stamped and die-cut fern on the front and inside).

It’s an easy card to make.  You can swap out whatever Designer Series Paper you have in your stash.

Measurements:

Card base (Thick Basic White):  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches, scored and folded at 4-1/4 for a top fold card

Designer Series Paper layer:  3 x 5-1/2 inches

Granny Apple Green and Basic White scraps for layering on card front and greeting.  I used the   Stitched Rectangles Dies on p. 183 of the Annual Catalog.

Inks:  Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay

If you do not yet have a demonstrator and want to purchase any of these products, I would love to have you as a customer.  You can click on the Shop button and go to my online store.

Hope you like this card!  Have a blessed day!

“Back on Your Feet” Encouragement

Hi crafty friends!

Lately, I realized I’ve been neglecting some stamp sets in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. In particular there is one called Back on Your Feet on p. 92 (#149385, $21.00: 9 cling stamps).  The images are so cute!  And the sentiments are perfect for someone who is “under the weather.” Let me show you a few samples I made.

I used Mango Melody cardstock, the Plaid Designer Series Paper from the 2020 “Holiday” Catalog, plus the Cinnamon Cider and Mango Melody Blends to color the giraffe.  Isn’t he cute?!

I had to think for a minute as to what animal this is below.  I think it’s a wombat, right?  For this card, I used Rich Razzleberry and Mango Melody cardstock, the Plaid DSP, and Cinnamon Cider, Olive Green, and Mango Melody Blends to color the image.

This turtle flat on his back and the sentiment, “Hope you’re back on your feet soon!” is perfect!! I used Cajun Craze cardstock and more of the Plaid DSP, plus Shaded Spruce, Old Olive, and Mango Melody Blends. This set is sure to lift the spirits of anyone who is “under the weather” or just having a bad day. Make them smile with a card to show you care 🙂

Hope you are inspired by these samples to get this versatile stamp set!

Have a blessed day!  Go stamp something!

Cards Shared with Me

Hi crafty ladies!

You know I love to share the paper projects you make by posting them on my blog. I’m inspired by what you do with paper!  One of my friends, Mariellen, was recently making bridal shower invites and wedding invitations, which she kindly is sharing with me and, by extension, with you.  Here are her projects . . .  enjoy!

This is the wedding card she made . . .

February Mystery Card Monday

Hi crafty friends!

Recently, some of my card-making buddies and I got together for a Mystery Card Monday event. Before the event, I gave them instructions on cutting, cardstock, Designer Series Paper, etc. from their own stash so they could prepare the pieces for the card we would make. It’s called “Mystery Card” Monday because they won’t know how the card will look until we put our cards together. Loads of fun!! Then at the virtual event we all make our cards together with my directions using a virtual platform so they can see me and what I’m doing to assemble the “mystery” card. The ladies really seem to be pleased with the layout. I call it a “Flappy Fun Fold card.” I want to give a shout-out to fellow demonstrator Connie Stewart whose card I CASE’d as the inspiration for my own:

I chose to use a retired stamp set Welcome Easter. Like Connie, I used Soft Sea Foam and Purple Posy for this new baby card.

Here are the details:

Card base (Soft Sea Foam):  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches; in landscape position, score at 5/8″ and 4-1/4″

                Layers (Purple Posy):  1-1/2 x 5-1/4 inches*, and another piece: 5/8 x 5-1/2 inches

Basic White CS:  2 x 2-1/4 inches.  This piece will be focal point in landscape position.  Find an image to stamp on it that is not wider than 2 inches nor taller than 2-1/4 inches.

Basic White CS:  Cut a shape (circle or square) 2″ to 2 ” in width and height.  Find a sentiment or greeting to fit.

Basic White CS:  3-1/2 x 5-1/4 inches for inside message

Inks:  To match your cardstock colors &/or use a neutral ink like black, gray, dark brown, etc. Pick a coloring medium if you want to color your focal image on card front or inside images.

Stamp set(s):  Your choice; one of the stamps should be in a straight line to stamp along the edge of the cardstock – one word or a few words.  (See photo.)

Accessories:  Any embellishments you may choose to use like pearls, rhinestones, matching ribbon, etc.; your choice of adhesive

Nice to have but optional:  Tombow Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, bone folder, scissors, scoring tool (Before I bought my Simply Scored Scoring Tool, I used a ruler and the blunt side of a butter knife.  Hey, it worked!  You could even use the blunt side of a butter knife as a bone folder 😉

Another Option: If you have a machine that embosses cardstock, you might choose an embossing folder and run it through with the larger piece of Purple Posy cardstock.

Assembly:  (I’ll be referring to the color combo I used in my sample: Soft Sea Foam, Basic White, and Purple Posy.)

                1.             I folded the Soft Sea Foam card base in half, then folded the skinny section back on itself to make a flap.

                2.             Next I adhered the Purple Posy skinny strip to back of skinny flap so that a thin piece of the Purple Posy cardstock was showing.  Then I adhered the entire strip to the card front as in photo.

                3.             I ran the wider Purple Posy cardstock through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Subtles embossing folder.  Then I flagged the end with my scissors.  (You could also use the Triple Banner Punch or the Tailored Tag punch if you have them.)

                4.             Then I stamped my focal image (the little lamb) on the rectangular piece of Basic White and colored it using Stampin’ Write Markers and Stampin’ Blends in a very simple style.   On the Basic White Circle I stamped my greeting.  I adhered both elements on the Purple Posy strip, placed some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back, and placed it on my card front.

                5.             Next I used a single word to stamp along the right edge of the inside of the card.

                6.             I stamped my Basic White CS for the inside and adhered it.

                7.             Finally, I added a few rhinestones and a single-knotted ribbon to the card front.

Here are photos of another card where I used the same Flappy Fun Fold as the one above. I used the Painted Poppies and coordinating DSP and dies.

I hope these give you some inspiration to go to your crafty place and make something beautiful with paper. Have a blessed day!

Hi crafty friends!

I have a good longtime friend who enjoys all sorts of crafts, including paper crafting.  She recently went binge-crafting Valentines and cards, and she shared with me what she made.

Aren’t they lovely?  Below is the entire array.  Let’s give Terrie some love!

Baptism Card Morphs into Birthday Card!

Hi crafty friends!

My last post showed a card I had made for my new granddaughter’s baptism.  Typically, when I make one card, I cut enough to make two of the same card.  So, since there are no other baptisms in my future, I decided to change it into a birthday card.  I make more birthday cards than any other type of card.  What kind of card do you make the most?

I took the pieces I had left to make a belated birthday card.  The greeting I chose dictated the orientation of this card.  I turned it into a side fold card.  Here are both cards …

For the birthday card, I used the Prized Peony Bundle in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog: the coordinating Peony Dies and the stamp set, Prized Peony on p. 84. I love this suite! You will, too. Check it out.  I colored the small peony flower with the Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green Blends and cut it out with the dies.  The sentiment is from Happiest of Birthdays stamp set (which has a belated birthday greeting) also in the Annual Catalog.

Here is the inside of the card using the Here’s a Card stamp set on p. 39…

The envelope flap is decorated with the gorgeous Peony Garden Designer Series Paper.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you’ve gotten some inspiration 😊 Go stamp something!

Baptism Card for Baby Aria

Our new granddaughter was baptized recently – a big day for our entire family and an even bigger one for Aria!  And it called for a special card.

I made a tent card (which is simply a card in portrait position with the fold at the top).  It starts with a Petal Pink card base 4-1/4 x 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches for the fold.  I took a piece of Gray Granite cardstock 4-1/4 x 2-3/4 inches and ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder to give texture and interest.  I added one of the Square Vellum Doilies for more visual interest.

For the cross and greeting, I used a retired stamp set called “All God’s Grace” which has beautiful sentiments and greetings for all types of sacraments.  I stamped the cross on a scrap of Flirty Flamingo, fussy cut it out and popped it up with dimensionals.

Then I stamped the greeting on a scrap of Basic White cardstock, cut it out with the Rectangle Stitched Dies, and also popped it up with dimensionals.  A bit of the beautiful Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon and a few Elegant Faceted Gems finished it off.

The inside of the card was prettied up with the small blooms on the card front brought inside the card as well.  The flower centers were colored with the Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write marker.

Hope you get some inspiration from this.  Thank you for stopping by!

Have a blessed day!

January’s Mystery Card Monday Creativity

I love sharing the creativity of my friends who enjoy paper crafting as I do.  Last Monday, they made a “mystery card” which I had designed.  They were given directions and cutting measurements, just enough to help them prepare. Then we all made our cards together during a Zoom Virtual get-together.  They made an accordion fun fold card, at least that is what I call it.  This fun fold goes by other names as well.

Enjoy their shared creativity and inspiration!  Let’s give them a little love!

This is Diane’s card.

Here are Sharon’s and Rita’s cards.

Here are Mariellen’s photos.
